Meet Lisa
I write because stories are how I make sense of the world — and because the questions that won't leave me alone tend to involve a wrongdoing, one of three complicated people, and a few hundred pages before they'll quiet down.
Even though I'm a loud (and proud) person, what goes unsaid fascinates me: the glance that carries a whole history, the loyalties we'd never name aloud, the near-misses we keep turning over long after we should have set them down.
Lifnos came out of that. It's an island where nobody's belonging is ever quite settled, where the past keeps its receipts, and where justice, when it finally arrives, always sends a bill.
